5 natural tips to fight dark circles and bags under the eyes

Waking up with dark circles or bags under the eyes is nothing serious or rare. But let's be honest, we'd still like to wake up with refreshed eyes to attack the day. Sure, there's the trick of concealer that saves us for the day, but why not privilege simple and natural gestures to put an end to the tired look?

While age, due to the gradual loss of collagen, plays a role in the appearance of dark circles and puffiness, other factors are to blame such as fatigue, stress, poor dietary hygiene...Here are 5 natural tips to fight dark circles and puffiness under the eyes.

  • Sleep neither too much nor too little

It's not news: lack of sleep is one of the major causes of the appearance of dark circles and under-eye bags. A good night's sleep is the key secret to displaying a fresh, glowing look when you wake up. It is thus advised to sleep about 8 hours per night and in good conditions (good position, fresh and clean room...). Be careful, however, not to sleep too much because excessive sleep increases the chances of waking up with puffy eyes.

  • Adopt a good position to ensure good blood circulation

Lying down slows down the circulation of blood and lymph vessels. These become congested during this period of inactivity, causing dark circles to swell.

To combat this stagnation, it is advisable to change position regularly and/or sleep with the head slightly elevated (with several pillows, for example) so as to promote the drainage of fluids down the face to avoid puffiness upon waking.

Rose water has been used since ancient times for its multiple antioxidant and antibacterial properties that prevent wrinkles and fine lines while providing hydration to the skin. But rose water also works wonders on the eyes. In particular, it helps to prevent dark circles and puffiness under the eyes. It is also able to soothe the eyes gently.

To do this, soak cotton pads with rose water and then place them in the cooler before bed, as cooling down reactivates blood circulation as well as lymphatic tissue circulation Upon waking up, apply these cotton pads to each of your eyelids for a few minutes, you will instantly decrease eye swelling after that.

  • Massage her eye area every night with the right care

Activating blood circulation around the eyes allows the blood to flow better and thus reduce the marks of fatigue and dark circles. It is therefore necessary to integrate into its nightly ritual the massage of the eye contour during the application of eye care. To do this, it is advisable to tap and gently massage the under eye area in small circular motions.

To maximize the effects of the massage we favor from eye contours containing green tea which is a precious antioxidant that allows for the regeneration of the skin, the improvement of the skin's elasticity and therefore the reduction of dark circles under the eyes.

Tips: As with Rose Water, remember to put your eye contour in a cool place to maximize its effects.  You can also use a jade roller to perform the massage to enhance its benefits on blood circulation.

  • Eating healthy

Very important ! Having good eating habits is the best way to fight dark circles and under eyes bags. Banish fat, favor ingredients rich in vitamins (green vegetables, citrus, fish, eggs…). Also limit your consommation of salt, which favors water retention, thus, under eye bags.
