Layering - How to layer your skincare products

There is no "perfect" skin care routine, but there is definitely an optimal way to apply your products. The order in which you apply your skincare products can make a big difference in their effectiveness, and that's regardless of the product or brand you use.

The general rule of thumb: You should apply your products in order of viscosity. In other words, apply them from the lightest texture to the thickest, unless you're using an oil-based formula that should always be applied last to lock the moisture into your skin.

Morning Routine:

Step 1 - Cleaning

Let's start with the most basic and arguably most important part of your routine: cleaning. Although it may seem unnecessary, cleansing your skin in the morning is actually very important. It helps to wake up your skin and prepare it to absorb the active ingredients in your other products.

For morning cleansing, it's best to use a simple cleanser like a micellar water or a washing gel as they allow deep cleansing while bringing freshness and energy to the skin.

Step 2 - Toning

Now that your skin is clean, it's time to move on to toners. Toners help rehydrate and balance your skin by providing refreshment and soothing

It is recommended to use lightweight and if possible natural toners such as Rose Water. Rose water, used daily, helps wake up the complexion, tone the skin, tighten pores and refresh the look.

Step 3 - Day Serum

The next step in your routine is the application of serum. In addition to having the thinnest consistency, serums are, generally speaking, the most powerful and concentrated products in your ritual.

For daytime serums, we favor vitamin C-rich serums because they are valuable antioxidants that protect the skin from daytime stressors like free radicals(caused by UV rays), pollutants and blue light

Step 4 - Hydration

Now it's time to move on to moisturizing. Applying a moisturizer allows retaining in the skin the benefits of other products applied before it that's why they are thicker.

For the day cream, a lightweight formula is used that moisturizes, nourishes the skin's surface without weighing it down, and blocks free radicals for a natural preventative effect and instant glow.

Step 5 - The Balm

The Lip Balm finishes the layering. It serves to hydrate, nourish and repair the lips. You can favor a naturally colored balm, which, in addition to moisturizing your lips, lightly colors them for an immediate healthy glow effect.

Evening Routine:

Step 1 - Cleansing/Makeup Removal:

Even more important than the morning, the evening skin cleansing step can be done in two steps.

Your first cleanse will be devoted to gently but effectively removing the daily makeup and pollution your skin may be exposed to. For this, privilege oils or makeup remover milks as their oil-rich formulas can help break down products on your skin that are designed to stay there all day like makeup.

The second cleanse may seem like overkill, but it helps liberate your pores of any extra debris so that absorption of upcoming products is optimalTo do this, you can use something lighter and fresher like a micellar water or a wash gel

Step 2 - Eye Contour

It may sound surprising, but the first skincare product to apply after cleansing is your eye contour careThe area under your eyes is a delicate and tender area.We don't want to overload it with too much product, so by applying your eye products at this point in your routine, they're able to do their job unhindered by other serums and creams.

Step 3 - Moisturize

As with the morning routine, moisturizing is an important step because it hydrates the skin and seals in moisture simultaneously

Because nighttime is the best time for cell regeneration, the night cream is often thicker and richer than the day cream to ensure that you're left with a soothed, regenerated skin when you wake up.

Step 4 - The Night Oil

Applying the oil to the face is a finishing step. By penetrating deep into the skin, the oil seals in moisture (by forming a protective barrier that prevents moisture from evaporating), and favors the absorption of other products used in your ritual like your night cream or your eye contour

Among the oils you can apply at night, favor pure natural oils, the most virtuous of which is the prickly pear seed oil, for its high concentration of omega 6, omega 9, and vitamin E, and its potent moisturizing and antioxidant benefits.

Little Tips: Apply your skincare (creams, oils) with a natural jade stone roller, as the latter enhances the adherence and benefits of skincare by promoting suppleness of the epidermis and restoring volume to features.
